Congrats to our friends at Canadian Drift Series for hosting a successful inaugural event last week at Toronto Motorsports Park!

Despite being a grassroots group the team managed to bring a full grid and a solid audience to the first event of their four date calendar - just goes to show you the power of community 💪

They launched the series by asking “Can we start a Canadian competition drift series in 2023?” and the outlook is resoundingly ‘yes’.

We’re already stoked for their next event on June 17th, see below some of Phil’s photos 📸

We’re back at Baku!

Qualifying at the Baku GP in Azerbaijan was an interesting sight to see with two drivers claiming P1 by posting the exact same time 🤯

This moment of excitement, however, was only temporary as one of them would best the time right before the final session expired.

Oh, and if you’ve forgotten.. Friday is now qualifying, Saturday is a Sprint Race, and Sunday is the Main Event.. Still feels weird but heck - we get more racing 👌

Motorsports are tough..

It’s tough racing on track, it’s tough just raising a budget, and it’s especially tough for those of us who may have a physical or mental disability, that we feel prevents ourselves from competing.

But as drivers like Robbie Wickens, Nathalie McGloin and Michael Johnson have demonstrated - a disability doesn’t mean that you can’t race.

This week on Motorsport Prospects I look at UK-based race team, Team BRIT. A competitive motor racing team, make no mistake about it, but they set themselves aside from the rest of the pack by racing with drivers who are disabled. They’re a competitive racing team, not a charity enterprise, and they pit themselves against non-disabled drivers in races across several different classes.

They’re proof positive that anybody can race, but only if they have the will to win.
