Corvette Goes Grand Touring

The new Corvette E-Ray ushers in a new notion for the beloved marque

Happy Friday!

The reviews are in - the Corvette E-Ray doesn’t suck! It’s still super weird to say ‘four-wheel-drive hybrid Corvette’ but we’re sure that’ll pass..

If it wasn’t already obvious, we really didn’t have high hopes for the Corvette E-Ray 😅

We love the Corvette and everything it stands for, but the spec sheet for the E-Ray seemed so confusing at launch - it wasn’t being touted as the performance model but carbon ceramic brakes came standard? Then you layer in the other decisions of upper level management in GM and we really felt uneasy about this evolution for the C8.

But now that the reviews are in, it seems the new Corvette E-Ray makes for a great touring car - and that’s the positioning we thought made more sense.

The Z06 will always be gunning for lap times, but this new iteration of Corvette is starting to feel like a Porsche 911 Carrera 4S - and that’s about the highest praise one can receive.

Max Verstappen, the Mayweather of motorsports?

Any boxing fan that followed the sport during the reign of Floyd Mayweather Jr knows that greatness is only annoying, until it’s inevitable..

On fight night there would be millions of people tune in on HBO Boxing to watch Floyd lose but, after a certain while, you just tuned in to watch Floyd.

And although Max has a long way to go to really earn the title of Mayweather, we’re starting to appreciate his dominance.

Click here to take a quick look at the career of the young kid who came in and shocked the world, winning three world titles back to back and (likely) causing the early retirement of his teammate, Sergio Perez.

Mission H24 reveals brand-new Hydrogen Electric Prototype

MissionH24

MissionH24, a collaborative project between the Automobile Club de l’Ouest and H24Project, has presented a brand-new hydrogen electric prototype for FIA WEC and Le Mans.

According to the MissionH24 team, key strides have already been made. Research, development, verification, and burn-in testing of the new power unit (hydrogen cell system, tanks, electric motors, battery, etc.) on laboratory cars is now complete. Thus, the focus is now shifting to producing the first car and reaching its stated performance target, which is for it to be “among the top GT3 entries”.

The ACO have made no secret of their desire to have a hydrogen-powered car race in the 24 Hours of Le Mans in 2026 while eventually contending for outright wins. This is the third iteration of the MissionH24 car and the first one to turn its attention to setting competitive speeds.

The progress on the concept has been nothing short of astounding and expect more to come as we get closer to watching hydrogen-powered cars race at La Sarthe. Plus the race car looks wicked.
