We’re excited to announce that Caffeine & Octane is now part of the Paddock Network! If the name sounds familiar, that’s because they’re:

  • The largest monthly car show in America

  • They’ve got a TV show on MotorTrend

  • And they’ve got their own raceway, Caffeine & Octane Lanier Raceway, where the action both on and off track seems to be rolling nonstop 🤘

Caffeine & Octane brings a tremendous diversity to our network, which spans many flavours of automotive passion. From exotics to hot rods, low-riders to race cars, trucks to drifting - their community does it all.

And their team already supports a For Sale section at the monthly show but now we’re giving them a digital extension. A self-serve, online outlet where their community can buy and sell cars, all connected to our other network partners.

Watching F1 drivers drive anything is awesome

While these athletes compete in open wheel racing, how great would it be to watch them compete (or even do a skills showcase) in other machines. Grand Prix weekends are always looking for ways to spice it up and we really think they should consider some ‘extra curricular’ driving as part of the ticket price.

The Web3 journey of McLaren Racing

While talk of NFT drops and Web3 in sports has dropped considerably over the last year, McLaren Racing is proving that if done right, Web3 can contribute to marketing success in the world of sports. McLaren racing have been one of the most successful sports franchises when activating their sports fans with Web3.

McLaren Racing have had an extensive Web3 journey spanning multiple years, partnerships and NFT drops. They are partnered with leading crypto exchange OKX as well as one of the biggest blockchains out there, Tezos. The drops and partnerships have seen varying degrees of success and have been at a higher frequency than most sports teams on average, but the real success McLaren has seen is in “selling” their free NFT drops, the latest of which are called McLaren Moments. McLaren Moments celebrates the team’s heritage IP, celebrating moments from the team’s history over the past 60 years and the benefits of their NFTs are impressive for fans of the team.

While some sports franchises have scaled back or even shuttered their Web3 activities, McLaren Racing has shown that done right, Web3 can generate success off the track while helping to generate excitement on it. It’s a win-win.
