Another Run of Auctions!
Happy Friday!
We’re still beaming with excitement from having our friends, colleagues, clients & sponsors in town for the Toronto Indy last week. It was great to catch up with a bunch of you and for those that we missed - next year will be bigger & better!
Also, a special thanks to our friends at Mac Clark Racing! We’ve been supporting Mac since his championship runs through karting, F1600, USF Juniors and now USF2000. Seeing our logo on the car was a nice touch and as our software network continues to grow, we intend to keep supporting Mac up the racing ladder.
More updates coming soon and and as always - thanks for the support!

Pressure makes diamonds (and sometimes mistakes)
Have you ever made yourself an awesome sandwich and just as you’re about to enjoy it, you somehow knock it off the plate onto the floor and absolutely ruin all your effort?
Well, that’s what happened with Sergio Perez today as he found the wall in FP1 at Hungary - except his sandwich is an F1 car and the mess he made costs insane amounts of money.. 😅
With Red Bull now demanding results from Checo, it looks like the pressure has gotten to him as he touched the grass on corner entry making a trivial mistake. Click here to catch up on the action and we’re all rooting for Checo to get it together 💪
Next race: this Sunday, July 23rd @ 9am EST
PS: RCLUB is open to the public for the next two Formula 1 events! For those of you in Toronto, now’s your chance to come check out the hottest car club in Canada 🔥

Contemplating a hybrid-free future for Formula 1
Formula 1 CEO Stefano Domenicali has recently stated that Formula 1’s future generation of cars could be based around lighter, simpler and noisier engines. “If we can be effective in the study and production of sustainable fuel, we will be able to think about the next generation of power units, focusing on lightness,” he said. “We want a competitive engine, with many horsepower and also with a great sound. 99.9% of people want to hear a Formula 1 sound on track again, and that’s something we’ve put on the table.”
This is something I talked about in a Sustainable Motorsport column from 2020 where I quoted engine guru Mario Illien’s thoughts on the prospect. “According to Mario Illien, the engines could theoretically be loud, open to various technical designs and would be less expensive to develop since the technology is well understood and the sustainable fuels would essentially be a drop in replacement for the current fuel. It would also take care of the power requirements needed to run an F1 car at top speed for the duration of a Grand Prix, something an electric motor currently can not do. Additionally, without a battery it could allow teams to reduce the weight of an F1 car. If the fuel is CO2-neutral, the fig leaf of the hybrid drive is no longer needed. Then you are independent of the engine’s architecture. Green is green, regardless of whether the power source is then a V6 turbo or a twelve-cylinder naturally aspirated engine.”
It looks like F1 is thinking beyond the traditional paradigm of being a laboratory for road-going technologies and more towards a pure sporting and entertainment direction. Whether this will happen or not is unknown at this time but having the series less emboldened to automotive manufacturers could be an interesting direction for the series to take. Grab your popcorn and enjoy the show.
